"I knew it was going to be something special": Yami on Vicky Donor role

Uri actor Yami Gautam made her debut with 2012 Bollywood film Vicky Donor, opposite Ayushmann Khurana, recently spoke about her role in the film. Directed by Shoojit Sarkar and produced by John Abraham, the film had Ayushmann and Yami in the lead roles.
Talking about her lead role in Vicky Donor, Yami said, "I knew it was going to be something special. Not many newcomers get to play such roles,"
The actress further said the film taught her to be fearless in her choices. “Vicky Donor Was a Path-Breaking Script. I was fortunate enough to work with Shoojit Sarkar”, said Yami.
"It helped me explore myself as an actor. I remember the process of preparing for 'Vicky Donor'. We had workshops and we were so thorough with the script. After packing up we would sit with Shoojit da (Sircar) and Juhi (Chaturvedi) and work on upcoming scenes. It taught me to listen to my instincts and be fearless in my choices. It was a path-breaking script. I credit the film for strengthening my desire to be part of such stories that have depth and impact," she said.
