22-year old Indonesian Student earns millions by selling selfies as NFT

Sultan Gustaf Al Ghozali, a 22-year-old Indonesian student made a million dollars by selling Non-Fungible Token versions of approximately 1,000 selfies on the OpenSea NFT marketplace.
Ghozali, a computer science student from Semarang, Indonesia claims he took images of himself for five years, between the ages of 18 and 22, as a method to reflect on his graduation journey. He took selfies either sitting or standing in front of his computer, which he later transformed into NFTs and uploaded to OpenSea marketplace last month.
One of Ghozali’s NFT sold for 0.247 Ether, making it worth $806 at the time of acquisition. Some of Ghozali’s selfie NFTs sold for 0.9 ETH. Following that, Ghozali’s collection reached a total transaction volume of 317 ETH, which is more than $1 million.
Ghozali unexpectedly became a millionaire from the auction of his NFTs which was introduced with a warning not to fiddle with his photos, in case his parents express disapproval. He wrote, “You can do anything - like flipping, or whatever - but please don't abuse my photos, or my parents will be very disappointed in me. I believe in you guys, so please take care of my photos.”
For the uninformed, NFTs are digital collectibles such as art, music, gif, etc, which works on Blockchain technology that cannot be duplicated. Only the buyer can say they are the “official” owner, while anyone can view the asset in question.
