CSC Celebrates 15 Years of Digital Empowerment

The Common Services Centres Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC SPV) celebrated its 15th anniversary in New Delhi, marking a milestone in its mission to promote digital inclusion and rural enterprise. The event was graced by Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, Sh. Jitin Prasada, and other distinguished guests, including Sh. S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Sh. V Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Sh. Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, and Sh. Sanjay Rakesh, Managing Director, CSC SPV.
Expanding Horizons in Healthcare, E-commerce, and AI
In his inaugural address, Union Minister Sh. Jitin Prasada commended the efforts of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and emphasized the need to harness new possibilities in healthcare, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence. He highlighted the importance of providing vital information such as weather and agriculture updates through CSCs to benefit rural communities.
Promoting Rural Enterprise and Digital Inclusion
Sh. S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, acknowledged the pivotal role of CSCs in promoting rural enterprise and digital inclusion. He stressed that CSCs are crucial for bridging the last mile gap and are integral to the success of government schemes. "Breaking the digital divide is essential, and CSC is doing stellar work in digital education and cyber learning, teaching people the basics of cyber hygiene and promoting cyber safety," he said.
Achievements and Felicitations
The CSC network has made significant strides in various areas, including digital literacy, tele-medicine, insurance, tele-law, and skill development. Sh. Sanjay Rakesh, Managing Director of CSC SPV, highlighted the organization's efforts in delivering government services, promoting digital literacy, enrolling citizens in the e-Shram Yojana, and updating Aadhaar cards. He noted the vital role of VLEs in reaching underserved regions and tribal communities and their influence as local change-makers.
During the event, 46 top-performing VLEs, Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) Operators, and District Managers were felicitated for their outstanding contributions.
MoU for Educational Services
A significant highlight of the celebration was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CSC SPV and the Department of Higher Education. This MoU focuses on the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) IDs and the delivery of educational services through CSCs, further expanding the scope of digital services available to rural populations.
As CSC SPV commemorates 15 years of service, it continues to evolve as a catalyst for digital transformation and rural empowerment in India. The organization's dedication to bridging the digital divide and promoting inclusive growth stands as a testament to its ongoing commitment to the nation's development.
