Rail Drishti Dashboard (e-Drishti) : Facts you should know

The Union Minister for Railways, Piyush Goyal, inaugurated the Rail Drishti Dashboard portal on last Monday, to promote transparency and accountability of Indian Railways. Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Goyal said that, "People can access information related to railways, view live feeds of railway kitchens, get details of freight and passengers and rail time table through the Rail Drishti Dashboard." He further added "Those in remote villages can access this and find out everything about Railways and the portal was aimed at making Indian Railways more transparent."

The Rail Drishti portal provides a number of features that can be accessed by the users. Details related to freight, terminals, stations, and other important information can be accessed through the dashboard. 'Train 18 Will Be Known as Vande Bharat Express', Says Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.
People can see the pictures of any any railway station in India from the Rail Drishti Dashboard. Piyush Goyal added that the passengers will have the option to see the live footage of kitchen and decide whether he wants to eat or not.
The Dashboard can be accessed on computers, laptops, tablets and even mobile phones. It also gives access to key statistics and parameters to every citizen of the country. The application is mobile optimized for ease of use of public.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, speaking at the launch of the Rail Drishti Dashboard said that it a happy moment for all. Goyal said that this government is dedicated to the concept of Digital India and this is an important step in this direction.
Piyush Goyal also quoted Mahatma Gandhi, "I understand democracy as something that gives the weaker the same chance as the strong" and said, "To make people aware of the projects going on in Railways, Rail Drishti Dashboard has been launched. Passengers will get an exposure through this dashboard to the multifaceted transformation underway across the country. It will also help make available every kind of information anytime, anywhere to anybody."
Piyush Goyal told the officials to make the Rail Drishti Dashboard as simple as possible and use as many servers to ensure the effectiveness of the Dashboard. Goyal said that the Dashboard should not hang at any point of time. He gave instructions that the IRCTC app should be integrated with the Rail Drishti Dashboard and that Rail Drishti Dashboard should be integrated with the IRCTC app for convenience to the users.
