Cybercriminals issued 11,000 SIMs on fake Aadhar Card using document printing sites

The Kanpur police arrested a gang involved in issuing over 11,000 SIM cards using fake documents and false names. According to authorities, two people have been arrested in connection with the crime. Over 800 fake Aadhaar cards have been found by criminals.

The SIM cards were all from Vodafone Idea, and they were all activated with fake Aadhaar cards. The SIMs were used in criminal operations in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar. The alleged role of Vodafone Idea executives in the case is expected to be investigated by the Crime Branch.

After getting tricked out of Rs 20,000, a transporter filed a cheating complaint at Chakeri Police Station in Kanpur. The authorities claimed that the firm had committed fraud, wondering how thousands of SIM cards were supplied using a single Aadhaar card.

A website called ‘Aadhaar Print,’ which has been one of the most sought websites on the Internet, was used to create forged Aadhaar cards. The accused allegedly saved extra pictures of clients who purchased SIM cards from them. They made numerous counterfeit Aadhaar cards by exploiting those images.

All the important documents are now available online but these are being forged by cyber criminals. Hackers are now making documents like Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License to procure SIM cards to commit financial fraud.
